“Stepping Back in Time - Only stayed one night, wish it had been longer. The road from Taumurunui is not for the faint hearted, very twisty and unsealed for quite long stretches but it was worth it. The hotel and rooms were very clean and we had a lovely outlook over the verandah. We chose not to stay in the lodge which had ensuites, which would be our normal choice, simply because the hotel itself is so charming. Lovely food and attentive staff.
